Our Team
Hove Street Properties relies on the expertise and diverse skills of a team of over 25 professionals to meet the portfolio objectives. The executive team is led by Christopher Caswell, Chief Operating Officer and Raj Shanghavi, CPA, CA Controller and Director of Finance.

Christopher Caswell
Chief Operating Officer
Christopher leads the organization and is responsible for all aspects and performance of the business. He graduated from Western University, where he was a varsity athlete and bursary recipient. Christopher has more than 35 years of experience in real estate. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, cycling and traveling with friends and family.

Bruce McCarley
Chief Financial Officer
Bruce acts as the CFO for Hove Street’s investor group, and leads all the accounting, treasury and taxation functions for the company. In addition to financial services, he also offers strategic guidance to the senior leadership team. He enjoys physical exercise, travel and spending time with his family.

Raj Shanghavi, CPA, CA
Director of Finance
Raj leads the Finance Group at Hove Street Properties, overseeing the accounting, tax, treasury, and legal functions. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance degree and a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Waterloo and has more than 15 years of experience in finance and accounting. Raj is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. Since joining the organization in 2016, he has held various roles with increasing responsibilities. In his free time, he likes to travel and play sports including golf, football and basketball.

Mitch Abbey
Executive Vice President
Mitch has a broad range of asset management responsibilities for the Portfolio, including leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, joint venture management, development, and financial analysis. He has 40 years of experience in the industrial, retail and office sectors, and has been with Hove Street Properties since 2011. Mitch’s academic background includes undergrad at Queen’s University School of Business and MIT’s Masters Real Estate program. He has a working knowledge of French, enjoys golfing, skiing, hiking, traveling and spending time with his son and daughter.

Greg Spafford
Portfolio Manager
Greg is responsible for portfolio and asset management across the firm’s Canadian real estate holdings, including performance and strategy. His experience spans asset management, capital investment, leasing, transactions, and sustainability, with a focus on building high-performing teams and delivering resilient, growth-oriented results. Prior to joining Hove Street, Greg held senior leadership roles managing diversified real estate portfolios. He graduated from Queen’s University with a Master of Planning degree and earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Toronto Metropolitan University. He enjoys hockey, swimming and cycling and travelling with his family.

Aryeh Goldstein
Property & Insurance Manager, North America
Aryeh provides property management and investment advisory support to Hove Street’s US real estate portfolio and its affiliated parties. Based in New York, he contributes to market analysis, portfolio management and corporate facilities services. He also supports the firm’s global insurance program. Aryeh was a former investment banker and has broad experience across the financial and capital markets industry. He earned a degree in Economics (Summa Cum Laude) as well as a Masters of Business Administration (Dean Honors and Distinction) from Columbia University. Aryeh enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children and likes skiing, cycling, and playing pickleball

Gus Manning
Manager - North America, Construction Projects / Property Management
Gus has over 25 years of experience in real estate and has been with Hove Street Properties since 1997. He is responsible for major construction projects across the Portfolio. Gus is also a key contributor to the annual budgeting and year-end reconciliation process and team leader on many of the larger tenant relationships. He enjoys do-it-yourself home projects and traveling.

Joseph Kiriaqus, FMC, PMC
Property Manager – North American Distribution
Joseph is a certified Facilities and Property Manager with more than 10 years of experience in real estate. He heads Property Management for the organization’s internal distribution centers across North America. He also provides support to the Hove Street Properties team on acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and due diligence. Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife and children and restoring unique automobiles.

Corrie Gillespie
Lease and Property Administration
Corrie has responsibilities for administering leases and tenancy billing, accounts receivable, and she also acts as the general office manager. Corrie coordinates the annual budget and year-end reconciliation processes. She has more than 14 years of experience in real estate. Prior to joining Hove Street Properties, Corrie worked in commercial and retail leasing, property management and real estate brokerage administration. Corrie is an avid photographer and also enjoys baking and traveling.

Mantej Bajwa, CPA
Controller
Mantej manages the organization’s Finance Group. She began her professional career providing assurance services to both private and public sector companies in various industries. She has over 7 years of accounting and audit experience. Mantej graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accountancy. Mantej is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. In her free time, she enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Ali Mardan Syed, CPA
U.S. Portfolio Lead
Ali manages the organization’s U.S. Real Estate Portfolio. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. Ali brings over 5 years of accounting and audit experience to the organization. He has a background in providing assurance services for a variety of industries including Real Estate, Construction, and Manufacturing. In his free time, he enjoys trying new recipes as a home cook, and spending time with his family.

Dave Jensen
Associate Director, Corporate Real Estate and Property Management
Dave has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry working for a number of national companies. Dave will have asset and property management responsibility for Hove Street’s western Canadian portfolio – and will be based in our Calgary office. Dave has a BAA (Applied Arts – Geography) Degree from Ryerson University. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports and DIY projects.

Niklas Lim
Associate – Asset Management
Niklas works on the Asset Management team helping to manage Hove Street Properties’ Canadian assets. Working with internal and external stakeholders assisting with Leasing, Property Management, acquisitions and dispositions. Niklas graduated from University of Toronto with a degree in Economics and Urban planning. He speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, bouldering as well as spending time with family and friends.
